We guarantee you have never experienced two coaches as committed and passionate about soccer training. Neil and Eric have a strong background in both playing and coaching. Book your first session today with either or both of these coaches and see how quickly and noticeably your game improves.
Neil was born and raised in Nottingham, England where 'football' is more of a religion than a sport. Like most English children, Neil grew up playing for various local clubs as well as his school and college team. He caught the coaching bug at the age of 16 when he earned his first FA coaching badge as part of a Football Association education program at his school. Over the next few years he worked as a coach for young mens teams around England and Australia. During that time he earned further soccer certification in the form of FA Level 2 Coaching and FA Advanced Goalkeeping. He gained an honors degree in Sports Science and Coaching from Southampton Solent University where he also achieved further certification in Speed, Agility and Quickness training and Personal Training.
It wasn't until his first experience coaching in America that he truly felt that he wanted to dedicate his life to pursuing a career as a professional soccer coach. During his 8 years in the USA, Neil has worked with teams in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, Michigan and Chicago. He has now been in South Florida for 5 years and in that time he has helped with the development of countless players, individually and as teams.
Neil takes an approach to coaching that focuses on getting the small things right early. Tiny details that can make a huge difference are often overlooked in other training environments. He knows how to adapt his coaching points so each individual gains a full understanding of what he is explaining.
Now as the co-founder of So Flo Coaching, Neil is excited to help even more soccer players discover their true potential and gain that extra edge to go as far as they can in the sport he loves.
Eric De Sousa
Being instilled with passion for the beautiful game as a child in Portugal, Eric pursued beach soccer, futsal and field soccer his entire life.
At the age of just 13 Eric began his coaching journey, working with players aged between 5 and 8 years. It was during these early days that he gained a valuable perspective as he taught the game while still playing and learning himself.
Eric went on to play for world renowned soccer coach Josef Schultz, where he won a national championship at the age of 16 as the defensive captain, playing alongside USMNT striker Jozy Altidore. His time working under Josef Schultz taught Eric the importance of team chemistry and mental discipline.
Coach Eric has since taught at middle schools, high schools, competitive travel teams and community centers all around South Florida, spreading his passion for the game with students as young as 2 years old.
In his 4 years coaching travel soccer, Eric produced an impressive .72 win ratio for his various teams in all competitions.
As a middle school coach, Eric brought both the Meyer Academy Boys and Girls soccer teams to the 2016 semi finals with wins against the number one ranked opponents along the way.
Coach Eric is 100% a mental coach and believes the intangibles that he teaches through soccer; Discipline, Focus, Teamwork and Work Ethic, not only help his students on the field, but also off it as well.
His goal is to bring the love of Indoor, outdoor and beach soccer to South Florida.
